Before you contemplate the return of a Samvit Sudha product for exchange, please take a moment to understand how our products are made. All our products are handcrafted by women from rural Karnataka, resulting in the products being unique and slightly different from each other. Irregular weaves, prints or stitches are an inherent nature of handcrafted products and that which make them unique. The paper used for our paper products is also handmade, sheet by sheet, and then lovingly converted into products for your use. We are passionate about quality, and take extreme care that the best fabrics, papers, threads, and trimmings are used to create long-lasting and delightful products for you. Reducing waste and recycling is a philosophy close to our hearts. We make great efforts to ensure that details like dimensions of every product are available for you to make an informed decision before you decide to buy. All items are quality controlled and checked for any faults before they are shipped to you.
Defective Products which qualify for an exchange
If you have received a defective product matching one of the criteria below, it may qualify for an exchange. The exchange will be for a similar product ONLY.
Criteria for Exchange:
For Fabric Products
- Fabric is torn.
- Trimmings are torn apart from the main product.
- Handles / straps are detached from main body of product.
- Rusted/Defective accessories.
For Paper Products
- Product is torn (paper)
- Handles / straps are detached from main body of product.
- Rusted /defective accessories.
For Publications
- Pages are missing.
- Pages are torn/cut.
Products which DO NOT qualify for an exchange:
The following products/criteria do not qualify for an exchange:
- Items that are sold at special prices or bought in a SALE. These items are ‘Final Sale’ items and are sold on an as-is where-is basis at the point of origin.
- Items which have been personalised, imprinted, customised, or produced specially for the customer are sold on an ex-factory basis.
Products damaged (or lost, stolen) in Transit:
For Products lost, stolen or damaged in Transit, please refer to our “Shipping Policy”.
The Exchange Process
If you receive a defective product (for list of defects eligible for exchange, refer “Criteria for Exchange” above), please contact us at customersupport@samvitsudha.com within 7 days of receiving your order. Please send us a photo of the defective product to assist us to evaluate whether the product qualifies for an exchange. Once the product is deemed exchangeable, you will be issued an Exchange Merchandise Authorization (EMA) number. After receiving an EMA number, please send the damaged product in its original packaging to the following address.

Products that are eligible for exchange should be returned within three (3) days from the date of the EMA. Please note that all return shipping charges will be borne by you. We strongly recommend that you use a trackable method to send in your defective products.
After receiving the return package and inspecting the condition of the item, we will process your exchange. Please allow us at least seven (7) days from the date of receipt of your item by us for the process. If the item however is not in stock or not readily available, it may take more time and we will inform you if that is the case.
Please note that our exchange team must receive and approve your exchange request. Samvit Sudha reserves the right to accept or reject an exchange request and any decision of Samvit Sudha in this regard will be final. To be eligible for an exchange, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.
NO-REFUND Policy
We are a not-for-profit organization, and our aim is to support women from rural Karnataka earn respectful livelihoods. Refunds take us away from this core objective. Keeping this in mind, we do not have a refund policy. We hope you appreciate this and accommodate us in the spirit of supporting our members who are looking to live an empowered and dignified life.
